OAKLAND, Calif. Head-Royce used a 10-0 run late in the game to pull away from De La Salle for a 32-21 win Saturday at home. The Jayhawks improved to 5-1 in the 2025 summer season and won their fourth straight game, holding De La Salle to 20.9 percent shooting from the field.

Tua opened the scoring with a 3-pointer on an assist from Sam, and the teams traded baskets early, with ties at 3-3 and 5-5. Jack made two free throws and Tua added a basket to give Head-Royce a 9-5 lead. De La Salle answered with a 7-0 run, starting with a basket off a turnover and adding two straight second-chance baskets and a free throw to go ahead 12-9. Jack made two more free throws to cut the gap to 12-11, but a De La Salle 3-pointer made it 15-11, the visitors' biggest lead of the game.

Head-Royce responded with a 6-0 run. Jack scored off a turnover on an assist from Tua, Tua tied the game at 15, and Nick put the Jayhawks back in front at 17-15. De La Salle tied it at 17, the fifth and final tie of the game. Tucker then hit a 3-pointer off the bench, assisted by Lo, for a 20-17 lead, and De La Salle cut it to 20-19.

That was as close as De La Salle got. Tua made three straight free throws, Nick hit a 3-pointer, Jack scored on an assist from Lo and Tucker made two free throws, a 10-0 run that pushed the lead to 30-19. De La Salle scored once more before Tua had the last basket of the game, putting Head-Royce up by 11, its biggest lead.

Tua led Head-Royce with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 3 at the line. He added two rebounds and an assist. Jack scored 8 points, going 4 for 4 at the line, and had three rebounds and a steal. Tucker gave the Jayhawks 5 points and five rebounds off the bench, and Nick added 5 points, four rebounds and a block. Sam grabbed five rebounds, and Lo had two assists and a block.

Head-Royce shot 10 of 29 (34.5 percent) from the field and made all nine of its free throws, while De La Salle went 2 of 4 at the line. The Jayhawks also held De La Salle to 9 of 43 from the field and 1 of 19 from 3-point range. De La Salle won the rebounding battle 24-22 and had nine offensive rebounds, but got only 4 second-chance points from them. Head-Royce committed seven turnovers to De La Salle's nine, and each team scored 2 points off turnovers.

Head-Royce is now 5-1 and has won four straight games.
