OAKLAND, Calif. Head-Royce used a 12-0 first-half run and a 36-23 rebounding advantage to beat Enterprise 60-52 on Sunday, improving to 14-7 in the 2026 summer season.
Enterprise controlled the opening stretch, scoring two second-chance baskets early and building a 15-9 lead, its largest of the game. The Jayhawks answered with seven straight points. Waylon Miller scored off an assist from Sanjay Ernst, Alex Jones hit a 3-pointer and Ernst scored to put Head-Royce ahead 16-15 for the game's only lead change.
Enterprise tied the game at 16 with a free throw, and Head-Royce scored the next 12 points. Ernst hit a 3-pointer and followed with a basket, Jones knocked down another 3-pointer, Loryan Boyette-Tindall scored off a turnover and Jack Peay finished a feed from Boyette-Tindall for a 28-16 lead, the Jayhawks' biggest of the day. Enterprise scored seven in a row to pull within 28-23, but Nick Taubes hit a 3-pointer and Boyette-Tindall converted another turnover. Head-Royce took a 33-24 lead into halftime.
Enterprise opened the second half with seven straight points, finishing an 8-0 run that cut the deficit to 33-31. Tucker Peay and Jones kept the Jayhawks in front, and with Head-Royce ahead 38-36, the Jayhawks made their decisive push. Tucker Peay hit a 3-pointer, Taubes made a free throw, Jack Peay scored off a turnover and Jones added a second-chance basket for an 8-0 run and a 46-36 lead. Enterprise got within six points twice, at 48-42 and 56-50, but never closer. Taubes scored seven of the Jayhawks' final nine points, starting with a 3-pointer and a basket on consecutive trips, and Jack Peay closed the Head-Royce scoring with a basket off a turnover.
Taubes led Head-Royce with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including two 3-pointers, and added four rebounds, three assists and no turnovers. Ten of his points came after halftime. Jones had 13 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks, making three 3-pointers. Jack Peay finished with eight points and eight rebounds, and Ernst scored all seven of his points during the first-half surge on 3-of-4 shooting. Off the bench, Boyette-Tindall had four points, seven rebounds and three assists, and Miller scored five points.
Enterprise shot 46.8 percent from the field to 43.9 percent for Head-Royce, but the Jayhawks made up the difference in other areas. Head-Royce grabbed 13 offensive rebounds to Enterprise's six, committed seven turnovers to Enterprise's 11 and held a 10-4 edge in points off turnovers. The Jayhawks made eight 3-pointers to Enterprise's four and assisted on 17 of their 25 field goals. Enterprise made 4 of 15 free throws.
Head-Royce is now 14-7.
