OAKLAND, Calif. St. Patrick-St. Vincent's Tyler scored 22 of her 28 points before halftime, and the visitors built a 30-5 lead at the break on the way to a 46-27 win over Head-Royce on Saturday. The loss dropped the Jayhawks to 3-2 on the season.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent scored the first nine points of the game, and Tyler hit two 3-pointers off passes from Aiani. Morgan R. put Head-Royce on the board with a basket assisted by Leila H. to make it 9-2, but the visitors answered with an 8-0 run for a 17-2 lead. Melina M. scored a second-chance basket for the Jayhawks. Then Tyler scored 13 straight points on three 3-pointers and two field goals, a run that pushed the margin to 30-4, the largest lead of the game. Elena K. made a free throw to make it 30-5 at halftime.

Head-Royce outscored St. Patrick-St. Vincent 22-16 in the second half. Leila H. hit a 3-pointer on an assist from Emmy M., and baskets by Vera W. and Melina M. cut the deficit to 32-12. After a basket by Aiani, the Jayhawks put together their best stretch of the day with a 7-0 run. Morgan R. scored a basket and made a free throw, and Elena K. added a 3-pointer from Leila H. and a free throw to pull Head-Royce within 34-19. St. Patrick-St. Vincent answered with five straight points, and Tyler and Aiani pushed the lead back above 20. Morgan R. scored the game's final four points.

Morgan R., a senior, led Head-Royce with 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting and added seven rebounds. She scored 11 of her points after halftime. Elena K. had five points and five rebounds, all on the offensive glass. Melina M. had four points, seven rebounds and a team-high three steals, and Leila H. finished with three points and a team-high four assists. Emmy M. blocked two shots, and freshman Vera W. made her only shot for two points off the bench.

Head-Royce outrebounded the visitors 38-31, with 14 offensive rebounds, but scored only two second-chance points. The Jayhawks shot 11-of-46 (23.9 percent) from the field and 2-of-21 from 3-point range. They committed 15 turnovers and did not score off any of St. Patrick-St. Vincent's 12 turnovers.

Tyler finished with 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting, including 7-of-13 from 3-point range. The rest of the St. Patrick-St. Vincent roster went 0-for-11 from beyond the arc. Aiani had 11 points, 10 assists and six steals, and Alisa added five points and seven rebounds. The visitors shot 30.8 percent from the field.
